“Green taxi”,
content well related to eco-friendly environment. Before getting a detailed
evaluation I would like to say how I came across the topic.
One day I was travelling by a bus, gradually due to
heavy traffic the bus got stuck amid the road. Gazing out of the window, I
noticed a yellow-colored authentic taxi (found in Kolkata) searching its way
out of the traffic jam. The reason that made me remembered the vehicle so well
was a layer of grass that lay upon an iron tray attached to the roof of the
cab. The concept amazed me; I continued to gather information about that
particular taxi. I was very happy to know that the driver himself decorated the
taxi with the ‘attire of green’. It was all his concept and contribution. Since
that day I copied the idea of green taxi and thought to make it popular among
all.

These days the rate of pollution cannot be calculated.
Each day tons of pollutants are released into the air from various sectors.
There are certain measures too to purify the air and it is followed by some
industries. The pollutants released from transports are also large in amount.
Severe damages are caused to nature as well as human health. Road transport
contributes maximum to global temperature rise by releasing CO2. 15%
of the global CO2 is attributed by transport sectors. Increase in
the level of CO2 contributes to climate change. Obviously, climate
change indicates rise in global temperate which will initiate the glaciers to
melt and ultimately rise the sea level. Rise in sea level has already started
but its effects are negligible presently. Therefore, if we start planting
before its get too late it would help to keep the balance of CO2 in the
atmosphere.

Nowadays due to urbanization the facility of cabs are
improving. Thus, a city consists of a lot many cabs driven the entire day. Each
cab releases some amount of pollutants in the air. From the view point of green
taxi, if every cab gets a grass tray attached to its top then
at least some amount of pollution would be controlled. If this concept gets a
global platform it would be beneficial to nature as well as human beings.
Planting is much easier than installing machines to
purify air. One just needs a will to promote greenery. I think we all would
prefer to see a green world rather than a world covered by a blanket of gray
(smoke, dust ashes etc.).
