Cotton Candy Skies

The little girl looked up at the sky,
And watched beautiful clouds drift by.
She saw the Cumulus clouds afloat,
One looked like a cat, another a goat.
She giggled when the goat morphed into a boat.
She then saw the Stratus clouds up high,
They looked like waves in the sky.
She imagined tiny shells and fishes,
Swim along those cloudy beaches.
The Cirrus clouds quickly drifted by,
And looked like long white feathers in the sky.
She was frightened to see the Nimbus clouds,
Because they covered the sky in a dark shroud.
But once the rain began to pour,
She danced until her feet were sore. Exhausted she collapsed onto the ground,
And marvelled at the world around.
She sat under the cotton candy sky,
And watched the sunset draw nigh.
She then began to ponder , she began to think,
Why did man make clouds of dust and ink?
But no matter what she couldn't understand why,
Man would choose smoke over cotton candy skies.
